Our Curriculum

Our secondary curriculum places a strong emphasis on intellectual development and traditional academic learning. We believe this approach best prepares our students for pathways leading to university, professional careers, and long-term success in whichever field they choose. We are committed to ensuring our students can compete on equal terms with peers from the most advantaged backgrounds. To this end, we provide a rigorous yet well-rounded education that offers them the best possible foundation for future achievement.

Academic subjects forming the English Baccalaureate sit at the core of our curriculum. While we offer vocational options for students for whom GCSEs may not be the most suitable route, all pupils are expected to follow a curriculum with a strong academic foundation.

To support student wellbeing and academic success, we distribute the study of GCSE subjects across both years of Key Stage 4. This helps to reduce pressure in Year 11 and allows us to tailor a programme of study that maximises each student’s potential through careful planning and personalised timetabling.
